Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation has picked developers and a layout team to develop a new lifestyle science hub in the shadow of the Shard.

The charity has named investment decision team Oxford Houses and developer Reef Group as its preferred builders for the plan, which it is calling Snowfields Quarter.

They will spend £350m to develop a few lab buildings across a 300,000 sq ft website, adjacent to the Guy’s campus in London Bridge.

Strategies are to be drawn up by DSDHA and Perkins&Will, alongside Reef’s very own in-residence designers, UrbanR.

Snowsfields Quarter will be the Foundation’s second life sciences-led scheme in the area, with the close by Royal Avenue web site under progress with companions Stanhope and Baupost Team.

Foundation chief govt Kieron Boyle said the scheme experienced acquired a “fantastic degree of interest”, with the selected associates beating opposition from Stanhope & Cadillac Fairview, Nuveen, Biomed & Blackstone and Breakthrough Properties.

Oxford’s head of daily life sciences, Abby Shapiro, explained her firm’s strategies would strengthen an “already sizeable ecosystem” in an space dwelling to King’s School London, the main clinical trials of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Rely on as perfectly as the Cell and Gene Treatment Catapult.
