A man was shot and killed Friday night after an altercation at an apartment complex, Olympia law enforcement say.
The target died at the scene. His autopsy is set for Tuesday, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock mentioned Sunday.
About 9:40 p.m. Friday, law enforcement had been dispatched to residences in the 600 block of Pattison Street Southeast and arrived to come across a gentleman lifeless in the foyer of the making, Lt. Paul Decreased mentioned.
In accordance to witnesses, the male, described as “highly agitated,” was triggering a disturbance with other citizens outside the house the foyer, Lower said.
He then entered the foyer, confronted a gentleman sitting in a chair, and brandished a big knife. The male in the chair drew a handgun and told the other guy to again away, Lessen stated.
According to police, the gentleman with the knife charged the male in the chair, who fired at minimum two rounds, killing him.
The shooter then handed his gun to a further person in the foyer and law enforcement ended up called to the scene.
Detectives also responded and have corroborated the shooter’s assertion of the incident, Lessen said.
The shooter’s id is identified to police and the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Workplace is informed of what took place Friday evening. At this time, the shooter is not in custody, Lessen said.
The case stays beneath investigation, he reported.
